Shira Tabachnikoff

Shira joined ITER in 2018 as Deputy Head of Communications in the Cabinet of Director General Bigot. Prior to ITER, she was the International Cooperation Advisor at the EU agency, the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) in Parma, Italy and the Head of Communications at the European Science Foundation (ESF) in Strasbourg, France. Before ESF, as Director of Corporate Relations for Elsevier, the market-leading science publisher, she led their media and CSR programs.

Shira has 10 years of Public Relations agency experience, specializing in Reputation and Crisis management and is a certified trainer in Intercultural Awareness, giving workshops around the world to improve intercultural communications, communicating science and crisis communications trainings.

Shira Tabachnikoff has both American and Dutch nationalities, speaks four languages and has lived and worked in the US, the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Italy and France.
